We treated the entire show as a giant, evolving set

A Living Set That Never Stood Still

The design brief was clear: no static stage, no repetition. The show unfolded like a cinematic timeline of Max’s career and cultural impact, moving from teenage bedrooms to wild west saloons, college gyms, and even animated storybooks on giant LED walls.

Our lighting followed suit, each scene was a world of its own:

• Shifts in colour temperature and atmosphere to evoke specific moods and eras

• Moving heads and motorised spots that sculpted the space and framed the action

• Sharp contrast work and architectural backlighting to shape depth in real-time

• Strobes, beams, and gobos that amplified crowd energy when the tempo called for it

The challenge was to maintain visual coherence across wildly diverse scenes while making each moment feel fresh and alive.
