The lighting design for Leonardo Giovannangeli’s performance begins with an intentional sense of restraint. The opening scene is defined by subtraction. Leonardo appears in silhouette in front of the words “Let’s Go”, his presence compressed and defined only by the graphic form, as if his energy were still contained. As the vocals begin, light gradually reveals him, while red slowly rises from below through controlled flames, suggesting a force that is just starting to awaken.

Throughout the verses, the stage remains partially concealed. Dancers emerge in backlight as silhouettes, red full color pulses across the LED surfaces, and camera framing stays tight, maintaining a constant sense of tension. As the rhythm builds, lighting shifts into sharper contrasts, alternating light and shadow on Leonardo’s body, supporting the increasing movement and dynamic intensity of the performance. In the pre chorus, space finally begins to open, and the eyes of the Carnotaurus appear, marking the first explicit visual sign of the power that is about to be unleashed.

The chorus fully reveals the stage and the audience. Lighting expands into a bold, concert style language, dominated by red and punctuated by strong contrasting accents. Energy is no longer restrained but transformed into spectacle. After a brief return to visual compression during the special rap section, where the cube and performer are isolated in an almost empty space, the final chorus becomes the point of rupture. Energy erupts from the cube, fracturing the scene into cracks of light that visually echo the eyes of the Carnotaurus.

The crescendo leads to a complete invasion of fire, culminating in a grand finale where flames dominate the entire stage. In the closing moment, the fire withdraws in reverse, as if being drawn back into the cube, leaving behind a final intimate spotlight on Leonardo after the peak of maximum visual intensity.

Within the Blearred team, Roberto Andreotti and Francesco Mingoia oversaw the project development, ensuring coherence between concept and execution. Matteo Masini curated the previsualization process and produced detailed renderings that defined spatial balance and lighting dynamics.
